7 ways to say I miss you, without relying on Google Translate

Expressing how much you miss someone is just as important as expressing your love for them. It reminds someone that you appreciate and want them in your life. We use these phrases all the time in friendships, family relationships or with romantic partners. Verbalizing these three words can convey a much deeper emotion — which in turn can enhance the bond of your relationship even more. Now as you read this, nearly one year into a pandemic, learn a new way to express just how much you miss someone…in 7 different languages.   1. Greek — Mou Lipis

Yes- I definitely had to include my native language on the list! Μου λέιπεις, pronounced (moo)-(leep)-(ees), does not exactly translate to “I miss you”, but rather “you are missing from me”. I simply love this phrase. While the root of this phrase expresses a deep longing for someone, you can certainly use this when communicating with a good friend, romantic partner and family.

2. German — Ich vermisse dich

There are two different ways to express missing someone in German. The first, Ich vermisse dich (ihk-vermesse-dihk) translates to “I miss you”, while Du fehlst mir (do-filst-meer)…
