Just a random poem found in my notes app from 3 years ago

Before my eyes saw you
they saw life differently.

The sun was brighter.

Like my smile,
The creases around my eyes grew deeper
but on the inside I’d never smile the same.

I doubted myself in so many ways;

Thought too much about what to say,
much of it wrong,
Thanks to you for always pointing that out.

It’s hard to speak clearly when you’re not okay,
but it’s different now,
all that has changed.

You walked away.
Said you found someone new.

Leaving me feeling blue,
but I’m not alone.

Just feeling used like a tool,
and empty like my wallet,
that once was full back when I used to spoil you.

But it’s okay,
What’s passed is the past,
and they say tough times don’t last,
tough people do.
